a 2025 saxophone consortium

Noah Stoker invites you to join a commissioning project for two new works for saxophone and piano by composers Nicole Knorr and Ty Bloomfield. Two pieces will be delivered on March 15, 2025—one for alto saxophone/piano, the other for soprano saxophone and piano—both themed around the sonic and somatic explorations of drawing, and how that can manifest through music.

Instrumentation: vibraphone, auxiliary percussion

Difficulty: â€‹
• A lyrical work for alto saxophone and piano by Nicole Knorr
• A fast, jazz influenced work for soprano saxophone and piano by Ty Bloomfield

Duration: 7-10 minutes of music

Delivery: December 23, 2024 (PDF score). Bennett Jandreau will premiere the work in Spring 2025, and all members of commissioning party will receive a one-year exclusivity period beginning the day after Jandreau's premiere.

Consortium Participation: buy-in is 150 dollars for professionals and 100 dollars for full-time students​ due upon signing. Deadline to register is March 8, 2025.

Consortium members will receive:​
• two PDF copies of scores by the composers
• name listed in score under "Commissioned by"
• one year performance exclusivity
